no we are not moving into this house, although i sure can dream that we would (pretty please!). been spending more time on blogger for a good bit now and kinda finding it works better for us and is maybe a tad easier for this family-on-the-go. so with that, we have found our internet home and it’s not the least bit different, just added an “s.” haha! we welcome you into our home and sure do hope you’ll stay friends!
i’ve been studying lactation for quite some time now in preparation for the exam and came across this sweet video on kangaroo care in malawi. we support kangaroo care at work, but to see it in a place with limited resources (i.e. no incubators) and using the mother as the heat source is truly amazing. it is so precious and amazing what the human body can do!
we’ve been hit pretty hard with a horrible cold, deep congestion, unfortunately bilateral ear infections. ahhhhh! the nicu nurse/momma in me took her to get tested for RSV and so far we are ok (but that nasty virus can appear at any time too!). were slowly on the mend with some antibiotics (although im feeling we may be sharing some germs and its coming to me too). even though she doesn’t feel well, i love every minute with her :) and can’t forget the teething, oh joy!
the only thing that made her happy was special video messages from santa, courtesy of our amazing papa! we watched it two days in a row and she loved it, a girl after my own heart. now we’re off for a weekend away, fingers crossed this goes as well as it can be ha!
this bathing beauty is on the outs lately with horrible deep chest congestion (this is not a picture of the past few days, trust me.. lots of snot involved haha). the nicu nurse in me is very fearful that it is RSV, read here if you’re not familiar. RSV is not nice and can be pretty wicked. i see a lot of flu/virus/cold/awfulness at work and especially this time of year. her cold has not gotten worse, but it also has not gotten better. i’m looking for some ideas on holistic remedies recommended for infants? any momma’s have some tricks of the trade they’d like to share? i’ve heard clove and eucalyptus oil with a vaporizer can help and you know i’m doing steam showers, vaporizers, and chest physical therapy like it’s my job (again the nicu nurse in me ha!). i hope my little lady feels better soon because it sure does break my little heart to not be with her every day when she doesn’t feel well.
our little lady turned 7 months this past week! i swear the first picture she looks like such a big girl there, goodness not ready for that. and the second… well… baby girl this is just the beginning, stage mom forever!
dear sweet clementine,
this month was quite a busy one! each day we see more and more of your sassy personality come out and it’s so fun to see. this month, you’ve matured into quite the eater still and are slowly but surely becoming interested in food beyond your delicious purees. you’ve started sitting up without any help and are playing on the ground. you sure do love your pup so much and constantly reach out for her to play with. we’ve started having you hand zoey cookies because you love to pet her so much and sometimes she’s not too interested, that is unless you have a cookie ;) although you tried eating the cookie this morning, ha! your babbling continues and has quite the high octaves lately..you love to be involved in every conversation (must of taken after papa there! ha!). you are starting to do some backward worm crawling but have not mastered the crawling yet (bless you because we haven’t baby proofed the best yet!). we love you so much sweet girl, and thanks for hanging in there while momma took your pictures!
